Classes: |
||||||||||
Barbarian: Ok class, but my advice is to start the character as Fighter, get your weapon specialization, and then multi class to Barbarian. Barbarian have some good abilities, such as rage and their high HPs. Orcs make the best barbarians, since it is their favored class and they are very strong. When assigning positions to characters, Barbarians should not be the FrontMan, rather they are best when they backup.

Bard: The infamous Jack of all Trades, You can be inclined to include one into your group, since there are some cool items for Bards in IWD II and they can really help the group with their songs. They can be back up fighters (although not very good)or back up healers and wizards. Also makes for good spokesman of group.

Cleric: This is the MVP of IWD II. Every group needs one, hell make two if you are feeling up to it. They have great buff spells for the teams, the best summoning spell - Animate Dead, and not bad fighters when push comes to shove. The only bad thing I can think of, is they don't have a great selection of offensive spells, but that is why you include a mage/sorcerer in your group. The cleric of Tempus is pretty good.

Druids: They are almost identical to Clerics, except they don't recieve any domain spells, have fewer healing spells and can not turn undead. But they get good special abilites as they level. They can shape change, but some of the animals you can polymorph into are lame. However, the druid is the type of class that gets better when you level higher.Polymorphing into different Elements, I think is a big plus.

Fighter: The 2nd MVP, but that is really in any comp RPG. No real special abilites, except they incur feats at a faster rate than any other class. Any race can be a fighter, but I think dwarves with their high Con, Elves with their high Dex, and Humans with their vast diversity make the best fighters. You need at least 2 Fighters in your group.

Mage: Good Class, but believe it or not they aren't a must. Since clerics can cast Dispel Magic, you don't really need a Mage. But is alot better if you have one. They have the best offensive spells, but I think IWD could have put better defensive spells for them. They have really low HP so keep them protected. Thay also have alot of skill points, thanks to their high intelligence. Elves and Humans make the best mages.
