 Classes:

Monk: Great Class. They have a slow start but like the Druid, they get better with time. They have the best saving throws and although they don't have the best attack bonus, they make it up with their other attributes. Any class can be a good monk.
.......................................................................................................................................................
Paladins: This is an iffy class. They start out good but they get worse with time, sorry it is the truth. They aquire spells really slowly, and after 3rd level they stop gaining any special abilites. But they have the most powerful weapon - The Holy Avenger, good against evil characters, which applies to 99.9% of the game. However you don't get the weapon until the end. What I have done is: play a Paladin of Helm, and multi class to Fighter at 3rd level. That usually does the trick.

Ranger: This class like the Paladin falls into the "iffy" class. I think Wizards of the Coast need to work on this class. Sure you get the useful 2-weapon fighting feats, but you can only use it when wearing light armor. And sure you get a favored enemy, but you recieve feats alot slower then fighters. However for the sake of role playing I did include one in my game.

Rogue: Face it you need one in your game. They get good abilities though, like evasion, high skills points and the infamous sneak attack. I usually multi class them to another class, like fighter or my favorite - bard. Majority of my rogues are halflings and dwarves. Tieflings make great Wizard/Rogues due to their good racial bonuses.

Sorcerer: I think this class is a hell of a lot better then Wizard. Why? Economically and because I am lazy. I like the fact that they gain spells like a cleric, and that they can cast alot more spells than a wizard. I also like that they don't have to learn spells like wizards do, so you don't always have to spend money on those freaken expensive spells. Since they have to have high charima, that makes them a good spoken person when you don't have a bard or a paladin.
